The Library and Publishing Institute (LPP) of Unissula, in collaboration with the Basic and Secondary Education Division (Dikdasmen) of the Sultan Agung Endowment Foundation (YBWSA), held the "Class of Champions" (CoC) on Thursday (October 22, 2026) on the third floor of the Unissula LPP building. This event marked the first-ever collaboration between the two institutions in organizing an educational competition for students across various academic levels within the Sultan Agung educational community.
The competition aims to strengthen the synergy between YBWSA’s Basic and Secondary Education Division and Unissula, while fostering students' knowledge, critical thinking skills, and drive for achievement. Through this initiative, participants are provided with a platform to test their academic abilities and build self-confidence within an educational, competitive environment.
The event began with opening remarks from the Head of LPP Unissula, Erna Sunarti, S.Pd., M.Hum., who noted that this activity serves as an initial step toward strengthening the synergy between LPP Unissula and the YBWSA Basic and Secondary Education Division.
"The 'Class of Champions' is an initial step toward strengthening the synergy between LPP Unissula and the YBWSA Basic and Secondary Education Division. We hope this collaboration will continue to grow through various educational and innovative activities that benefit the students," said Erna.
The event was officially opened by the Head of the Secretariat for the YBWSA Basic and Secondary Education Division, Dr. Nailul Mukorobin, S.Psi., M.Psi., who described the CoC as a new milestone in the collaborative relationship between the two institutions. He expressed his hope that this synergy would be maintained and further strengthened through future joint programs.
"The 'Class of Champions' represents a new historical milestone in the synergy between the YBWSA Basic and Secondary Education Division and LPP Unissula. It is our hope that this collaboration does not end here, but rather continues to be nurtured and developed through various joint programs that create a positive impact on the Sultan Agung educational ecosystem," stated Nailul.
The CoC competition featured three categories: elementary school (SD), junior high school (SMP), and senior high school (SMA). Each category consists of three stages: the preliminary round, the semifinal, and the final. In the preliminary round, participants answer multiple-choice questions via a web application developed by the LPP Unissula team. The use of this application serves as a technological innovation designed to support a structured and interactive competition.
The semifinal round utilizes an interactive game format, supported by Interactive Flat Panel technology. Meanwhile, the final round features a "buzzer-style" question-and-answer session, where participants must press a buzzer to earn the opportunity to answer. This format creates a dynamic competitive atmosphere while testing both the speed and accuracy of the participants.
The elementary school (SD) category includes students from SD Islam Sultan Agung 1, 2, 3, and 4 (Semarang) and SD 5 Kriya (Jepara). The junior high school (SMP) category features students from SMP Islam Sultan Agung 1 and 4 (Semarang) as well as SMP 3 Kalinyamatan (Jepara). The senior high school (SMA) category includes students from SMA Islam Sultan Agung 1 and 3 (Semarang) and SMA 2 Kalinyamatan (Jepara).
