230 New Unissula Pharmacists Take the 14th Pharmacist Professional Oath

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Sultan Agung Islamic University (Unissula) has once again produced pharmacy professionals. A total of 230 new pharmacists took the Pharmacist Professional Oath during the 14th such ceremony held at Unissula on Wednesday (September 30, 2026).

The oath-taking ceremony was conducted with solemnity. With this 14th ceremony, the Unissula Faculty of Pharmacy has graduated a total of 1,507 pharmacists. This achievement is part of Unissula’s contribution to preparing professionals to support public health services.

Unissula Rector Prof. Dr. Gunarto, S.H., M.H., expressed his gratitude to the parents who entrusted their children's education to Unissula. He noted that the success of these new pharmacists was inseparable from the prayers and sacrifices of their parents.

"Thank you to the parents who have entrusted their children's education to Unissula. I urge the new pharmacists to continue doing good—especially towards the parents who have made so many sacrifices throughout your life's journey," he advised.

Meanwhile, the Head of LLDIKTI Region VI (Central Java), Prof. Dr. Ir. Aisyah Endah Palupi, M.Pd., stated that graduating from the Unissula Faculty of Pharmacy’s Pharmacist Professional Program is a distinct advantage.

She highlighted the "Superior" accreditation status as a key attraction. Unissula’s Pharmacist Professional Program holds "Superior" accreditation, as does the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program. The university itself also holds "Superior" institutional accreditation.

"It is a significant advantage for all of you to graduate from a Pharmacist Professional Program that holds 'Superior' accreditation. The Bachelor of Pharmacy Program is also accredited as 'Superior.' Furthermore, you are graduating from a university that holds 'Superior' institutional accreditation," she remarked. He further explained the distinctive features of pharmaceutical education at Unissula, notably the development and management of *halal* pharmaceutical products and Sharia-based pharmacy practices.

According to him, this approach serves as a strength for Unissula in addressing societal needs, particularly in enhancing understanding regarding the *halal* aspects of pharmaceutical products and services.

This aligns with the Graduate Learning Outcomes of the Unissula Faculty of Pharmacy. Graduates are guided to become adaptive professionals with integrity. They are also shaped into a *khaira ummah* generation—an exemplary generation that benefits humanity.

A representative of the Indonesian Pharmacy College (Kolegium Farmasi Indonesia), Prof. Dr. Apt. Sri Hartati Yuliani, S.Si., M.Si., emphasized that a pharmacist's competence is not determined solely by academic achievement; readiness to engage in professional practice is also a crucial factor.

She urged higher education institutions to continuously align their curricula with the Competency Standards for Pharmacy Personnel ratified in July 2026. Pharmacists are also encouraged to embrace lifelong learning; they must meet the requirement of 100 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit units (SKP) and continuously enhance their competence.

She also called upon new pharmacists to contribute to national health programs, including a willingness to serve in regions facing a shortage of pharmacists. "Competence, integrity, and humanitarian values must always be upheld when providing services to the community," she advised.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Apt. Naniek Widyaningrum, M.Sc., presented a report on the results of the National Competency Examination (UKOMNAS) for the August 2026 period. Out of 230 participants, the pass rate for first-time takers reached 97.87 percent, while the average pass rate for first-time takers over the past three years stood at 97.77 percent.

These results demonstrate the graduates' readiness to enter the realm of professional practice.
