budaya akademik islami unissula

“Raising a Khaira Ummah generation” has become a central theme in the education movement of Sultan Agung Islamic University (Unissula). Islamic Academic Culture (BudAi) which was declared on August 18th, 2005 holds an important role as the University’s educational strategies. This big theme has totally changed the university’s paradigm of education. UNISSULA believes that we must reset our track back to value based education, i.e. the values of Islam. This means that a new paradigm must be constructed in our education. The new paradigm requires us to develop science and technology by implementing science reconstruction on the basis of Islamic values so that the development of the future science will be in accordance with Islamic values. Materialism as well as moral degradation in the education sectors of Indonesia are two main concers that backgrounds the birth of this new paradigm.

In practice, the current goal of our present education is focused only on the mastery of science, technology and skills. Moreover, the present educational system is solely expected to produce work-reaky graduates, leaving character education untouchable. For this reason, Sultan Agung Islamic University has been commited to produce a ” Khaira Ummah Generation”, the best generation to lead the world. To be able to produce the best generation, UNISSULA educates its scolars to be a devoted, educated and congregated scholar through the strategy of Islamic Academic Culture (BudAI).
