Unissula inaugurated 1,637 students in the 76th graduation procession led by the chairman of the senate Prof. Dr. Dr. Taufiq Nasikhun MKes and Rector Ir Prabowo Setiyawan MT PhD which took place for 2 days Friday-Saturday, October, 19-20 2018 in the Kaligawe campus auditorium. They come from D3, S1, S2, S3, study programs and professions from 11 faculties.
The Rector, Prabowo Setiyawan, in his speech, said that at this graduation Unissula had used a diploma with a pin system. “We need to say that in the 76th Graduation Period of October 2018 Unissula has implemented the use of a PIN (National Diploma Numbering). With this system the diploma can be checked online in the national data base about its validity, so that graduates can legalize it online,”said Prabowo.
He further added that each graduation must have produced to human resources (SDI) or the workforce, which are better known as fresh graduates, who are ready to be trained to go directly into employment. But looking at the challenges that are more complex and diverse in the future, it is still needed to continue to the next higher education level.
“In recent developments we know the term educated unemployee. The phenomenon of educated unemployment turns out from year to year, if we pay attention to it thoroughly, it still contributes to the list of unemployment in Indonesia which tends to increase. Competition that is increasingly sharp in employment whose growth is not balanced with the growth of human resources is not easily faced by new graduates,” said Prabowo.
Therefore, he suggested four important components that must be mastered, “First, knowledge, this is needed so that you know and master what you are doing. Second, ability or skill, with the ability you have, you can be skilled at doing what you are working on. Third, the ability to complete work according to the specified time (prepared), with this ability you will be able to survive in the increasingly fierce job competition. And Fourth, enforce five times prayer.”
Also present at the occasion were Head of Higher Education Service Institution VI of Central Java Region, Prof. Dr. DYP Sugiharto MPd Kons; Coordinator of Kopertais Region X Central Java Prof. Dr. Muhibbin, M.Ag; Board of Trustees and Managers of the Foundation; Director of Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital; Head of Bank Jateng Syariah and BNI Syariah Unissula Branch.
