Unissula Semarang has added two professors to its Faculty of Economics (FE). They are Prof Drs Widiyanto MSi PhD in the field of sharia economics. The other is Prof Dr. Ken Sudarti SE MSi in the field of management science. Both were inaugurated in a senate meeting of professor inauguration led by Prof. Dr. Anis Mashdurohatun SH MHum at FE Unissula, (20/12).

Unissula Rector Prof. Gunarto SH MHum in his speech revealed that by 2027 Unissula will have 100 professors. “In 2021 Unissula has 15 professors. And in 2022 there will be 13 professors. So that in 2022 the number of professors is 28. Unissula hopes for Allah’s blessing in 2027 the professors will be 100. If in 2021 there are 13 professors, then the next four years to reach 100 professors must increase by 18 professors every year, “he said.

Prof. Gunarto also conveyed the four duties of professors. First, to inspire and mentor lecturers who are already head lecturers. Second, to improve their quality as experts in economics. “I always say that professors are not for professors. Professors must serve the quality of their individual lives. Professors are not for professors, but professors are to give happiness to their life partners to be happy in this world and the hereafter. Being a great teacher is not for great teachers. But a great teacher is to contribute in educating the nation and state. And a great teacher is not a great teacher. Professors are for humanity to live in peace in this world and the hereafter,” he explained.

Furthermore, professors have the task of increasing the H-index of lecturers. “The average Unissula professor is still six. The ideal is ten. So the tradition of loving research and publishing the results of their research in national and international journals to increase the h-index must be improved,” he explained.

He continued, “The fourth is that professors must carry out the tri darma of higher education. A professor must provide the best at the D3, S1, S2, and S3 education levels. The second is to carry out research at least once a year, and finally the results of the research are carried out for Community Service (PKM),” he concluded.
