Unissula Officially Launches Midwifery and Professional Midwifery Study Programs

Faculty of Medicine Unissula has now officially opened Midwifery and Professional Midwifery Study Programs. With the receipt of the Operational Permit, the two study programs have now changed from being an applied bachelor to an academic bachelor.

The operational permit was handed over directly by the Coordinator of Private High Education Coordinator (Kopertis) VI Prof. DYP Sugiharto MPd Kons through the Secretary of The Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region VI Amsar SH MM to the Rector of Unissula Ir Prabowo Setiyawan MT PhD accompanied by the Chief of Midwifery Study program Unissula Endang Surani SSiT MKes (12/2).

The Chief of Midwifery Study program Unissula, Endang Surani SSiT MKes, felt grateful for the issuance of an operational permit for Midwifery and Professional Midwifery Study Programs.

“Alhamdulillah, this is a blessing for the Midwifery and Professional Midwifery Study Programs, Unissula. With the change in status to become an academic scholar, the development of midwifery and the professional midwifery are stronger, especially the contribution of Unissula to the midwife profession,” she explained.

Endang Surani added that this new status can strengthen our promotion so that midwifery and professional midwifery study programs will be in great demand in the future.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Unissula hopes that this new Study Program will be able to provide benefits to Unissula and the society.

“Hopefully, this New Study Program will be able to strengthen the professional midwife’s knowledge so that it can improve public health”

Midwifery and Professional Midwifery Study Programs are ready to accept new students for the academic year 2019-2020. Midwifery Study Program Unissula has several advantages including curriculum in accordance with National Standard for Higher Education (SN.Dikti) with curriculum excellence: Sharia-based midwifery services, Islamic disciplines, early detection of disabilities in neonates, infants, toddlers and pre-school children, interprofessional collaboration with IPE, entrepreneurship, IT, and foreign languages.

The other components are full integrated problem base learning method, using specifications, small group discussion, and supported by medical doctor and midwifery laboratories with National OSCE standard. It also has an independent teaching hospital, Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital and the accredited A Dental and Oral Hospital. The facility is the first Sharia hospital in Indonesia with a network of 12 hospitals.
