Unissula Inititated Cooperation with North Lampung

Unissula Rector, Ir. Prabowo Setiyawan, M.T., Ph.D., was the guest of honor in the celebration for the inauguration of the Regent and Vice Regent of North Lampung Regency, Agung Ilmu Mangkunegara, S.STP., M.H. and Budi Utomo, S.E., M.M. (26/3). The event that took place in the Regent’s official residence, North Lampung, was attended by representatives of members of the Indonesian parliament, representatives of Dandim 0412, Resort Police, Attorney General Office, Regional House of Representatives, Head of North Lampung Civil Servants, Heads of Sub-District, North Lampung Village Chiefs, community leaders, religious leaders, and the people of North Lampung.

On that occasion, the Unissula Rector expressed his gratitude for the invitation to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Regent and Deputy Regent. In addition, Prabowo also wished to establish cooperation with the Government of North Lampung Regency in terms of granting scholarships to the people of North Lampung who wish to study at Unissula.

“Thank you for the invitation given to us and also for the extraordinary welcome while we were in North Lampung. Besides that, we expect to maintain the good partnership we have. Therefore, in the future, more concrete cooperation was needed, one of which is by providing scholarships to students in North Lampung who want to continue their studies at Unissula Semarang,” explained Prabowo.

Prabowo further explained that Unissula had also collaborated with Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government with a program called Cerdas Sultraku. This program provided 1000 scholarships for excellent students to study for free in Unissula, which were funded by the local government. This program will be tried to be implemented later in North Lampung Regency.

In addition, Unissula also has the Scholarships namely the Hafidz Al-Qur’an Scholarship, Unissula Cemerlang Scholarship, PSB Scholarship, Unissula Scholarship for Santri, Unissula Berkhidmat Scholarship, Bidikmisi Scholarship, and Lazis Sultan Agung Scholarship.

“We hope that as an Islamic campus which has more than 50 years of experience can contribute to the progress of North Lampung Regency,” Prabowo concluded. North Lampung Regent, H. Agung Mangkunegara, S. S.STP., M.H. welcomed the invitation of cooperation proposed by Unissula because it was in accordance with the Regent’s vision to improve the quality of human resources in North Lampung that is strong, excellent, and dignified.

“We appreciate the Unissula Rector for visiting our city and we welcome the cooperation that Unissula Rector offered, because the programs that you offer are good for the progress of the North Lampung district,” said Agung.

The same thing was also expressed by the Vice Regent, Budi Utomo, S.E., M.M. He said that one of the tasks of the Government is the contribution in educating the nation with the programs which were expected to improve the quality of education so that the quality of human resource in North Lampung can be used as an example.
