The Community Service Team of the Faculty of Economics Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA) (funded from a tertiary institution) held a training on “making environmentally-friendly and health-friendly soap” for the community in Margosari Village, Limbangan District, Kendal Regency (10/7).

The event was attended by village officials, women from health cadres in the Margosari community. According to Dewi Wahyundaru, the participants were very enthusiastic in participating in the training, because it was in accordance with the duties of mothers as health cadres to help support public health while making a healthy environment. He further said that the soap is made from raw oil from vegetable oil palm, so it is very safe to use and does not kill trees if affected by the soapy waste.

Cleaning fluid or soap is now increasingly diverse, including soap to clean various household appliances, cutlery, clothing, and others. However, people as soap users are less concerned about the impact of the use of soap, both its effects on the body and impacts on the environment.

The Faculty of Economics Community Service Team, as the executor of the service, will continue to assist the development of the results of the post-training on soap making for health cadres. It is hoped that this training will benefit all residents of Margosari village, Limbangan District, Kendal Regency.

The Faculty of Economics team consisted of Dra. Endang Dwi Astuti, M.Si., Dra. Hindah Pudji Hastuti, M.M., Sri Dewi Wahyundaru, S.E., M.Si., and Ahmad Rudi Yuliyanto, S.E., M.Si.
