Recently, six lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry, Unissula, held community service in Cinde Timur RT 2 and RW 5 Jomblang village, Candisari sub-district, Semarang. According to drg. Rama Putranto, M.Kes., Ph.D., the purpose of the activity was to provide understanding about the importance of dental and oral health for the community.

They formed cadres and then conducted health campaign to the community about the importance of oral and dental health awareness. This indication could be seen from the numerous of complaints from the surrounding community who visited the dentist after suffered from toothache.

Rama added that the cadres were expected to be the initiators to assist residents in obtaining information about oral health and to be able to provide knowledge and raising the awareness to check oral health before getting sick.

The Unissula Faculty of Dentistry Team hoped that this activity could be expanded in a wider area with more cadres so that public could easily obtain preliminary information about the importance of maintaining oral health.
