Unissula will hold an open senate meeting to inaugurate the Dean of Unissula’s Faculty of Economics, Olivia Fachrunnisa, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., as a professor on (26/6) at Unissula campus in Semarang.

Olivia was born in Kudus on 18 June 1975 from the couple of Fatchan Hasbi and Ruchiyati. She was always educated for the values ​​of honesty, independence, ahlaq, and the strengthening of religious values. From an early age, she was educated in an Islamic-based school in kindergarten, elementary school and high school in Kudus. Olivia then continued her Bachelor’s education in the Management Program of the Faculty of Economics, Unissula.

Starting her career as a lecturer in 1999, she becomes a lecturer who has expertise in teaching in the field of HR management and Business Intelligence. She, then, got her master’s degree in the Master of Management Science Program (M.Sc), Universitas Gajah Mada Yogyakarta in 2004.

As a strong and passionate person to enrich her international outlook, she chose to continue his doctoral education at Curtin University Australia through the overseas postgraduate education scholarship program from Dikti in 2008. It was there that her research and scientific writing abilities were honed, so it was not surprising that many brilliant achievements were successfully accomplished in the last five years included: completing 13 studies in collaboration with researchers from local and abroad with a total grant of more than 1.9 billion, writing 12 scientific articles in international journals, mostly indexed by Scopus, becoming a speaker in 22 conference forums, seminars, and workshops both local and international, publishing three books and writing four popular articles in mass media.

In addition to actively teaching and researching, she is also active in community service. She has completed 9 community services which are located in Semarang, Demak, Terengganu Malaysia, and Dongseo Korea.

Her brilliant academic talent has earned her many impressive awards. In the last 10 years, she won 10 awards including best paper award at the international conference in Malaysia in 2010, 1st place outstanding lecturer in LLDIKTI Region VI in Central Java in 2012, another important achievement, namely as the best presenter in the national research program applied by the DPRM Kemenristek Dikti in 2016.

She also has good leadership talents to be trusted to assume the position of the Dean of Faculty of Economics for two periods from 2014 to 2021.

In her era of leadership as a Dean, Olivia Fachrunnisa has always synergized the University’s strategic programs with Faculty’s prominent programs such as improving academic quality, increasing the amount of research and publications, and encouraging Unissula as a world class Islamic university.

She implemented it in various programs including consistently holding student exchange programs, lecturer exchanges, visiting professors, opening dual degree programs with Kyungdong University Korea, opening early intake programs, opening international classes, implementing fast track programs from undergraduate to doctoral programs, etc.

At present, FE Unissula has also officially become a member of The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow (ABEST21) in order to obtain international accreditation. It was considered important after all study programs at the Faculty of Economics, Unissula namely Diploma of Accounting, Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Management, Master of Management program have all been accredited “A” by BAN-PT, and the latest study program is the Doctoral Program of Management which is also prepared towards Accreditation “A”.

At the age of 44 years, right in her birth month, Olivia Fachrunnisa received the best birthday present and at the same time a great gift in the history of her life, i.e. her inauguration as the youngest Professor of Unissula.

“The title of Professor is achieved solely because of the blessing of Allah SWT, because of prayers from my family, support from friends, colleagues, the big role of faculties, universities, foundations, etc.” Said Olivia.

As a wife of Miftakhul Huda and a mother of four daughters namely Fannisa Balqis Huda, Nisrina Adiba Huda, Arsyania Iftikhar Huda, and Salma Adreena Huda, would certainly not be easy when it must be faced with dividing time for family and work as a career woman. “But everything becomes easier when there is mutual understanding and mutual support,” she concluded.
