Member of the Judicial Commission (KY) Dr Joko Sasmito SH MH received the title of Honorary Professor from Sultan Agung Islamic University (Unissula) Semarang. The decree for the professor of law was delivered directly by Unissula Rector Prof Dr Gunarto SH MH on the Unissula campus (11/3).

Prof. Gunarto praised the head of the field of judge supervision and investigation as a law enforcer with high integrity. He is also seen as having accuracy in making various decisions in various military trials. One that is certainly still remembered by the public when he tried the suspects in the murder case at Cebongan Sleman Yokyakarta Prison in 2013.

“As a military court judge, Prof. Joko Sasmito has made a major contribution to this nation with his various fair decisions. So that the law can be upheld in this Republic. Today Prof. Joko Sasmito has become a professor so that he has more responsibility in order to uphold law and justice. The goal is to make this nation more prosperous and blessed by Allah SWT, “said Prof. Gunarto.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Unissula Law Doctoral Program Prof Dr Sri Endah Wahyuningsih said Prof Joko Sasmito had important contributions and extraordinary experience as a military judge. Prof. Joko Sasmito is also a law enforcer who diligently writes various books and publishes various research in national and international scientific journals.

Also attending the ceremony were KY Chairman Prof Dr Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata SH MH, KY Deputy Chairman Dr M Taufiq HZ MHI, KY members Prof Amzulian Rifai SH LLM PhD, Dr Siti Nurjanah SH MH, Binziad Kadafi SH LLM PhD. Also present were the Chairman of the Military Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Major General (Ret) Dr Burhan Dahlan SH MH, Secretary General of KY Ari Sudihar SH MH. Chairman of the Central Java High Court Charis Mardiyanto SH MH and chairman of the Jakarta Military High Court Brigadier General Faridah Faisal SH MH.
