Diversity should not make us divided “Diversity is a natural thing and it should not make us divided,” said Gus Miftah in the agenda of Teknik Bersholawat held at Unissula campus (11/3).

According to the eccentric priest (Kyai) that towards the presidential election, all parties should be able to hold back and make a soothing statement. “In Indonesia there are two types of people who are difficult to advice. The first is a person who is in love and the second is a supporter of presidential candidate,” he said.

He added that one of the roots causing the chaotic problems that have occurred so far is because many people have loud voice but they are lack of knowledge. They speak loudly but do not comprehend the problem.

“Today, many people have a good variety of enthusiasm in performing religious rituals but their knowledge is inadequate. So often misperceptions in understanding the problem cause a stir. One day I was called by Via Valen, she said that she was protested by several people because they thought Via was unethical because he was singing sholawat deen assalam on the dangdut stage. This is clear that they did not know since when Deen Assalam became a prayer (sholawat). It is a qosidah song from the Middle East that could be sung anywhere even in the toilet,” concluded Gus Miftah in front of thousands of visitors who attended the campus mosque.

This agenda was also attended by The Rector of Unissula Ir. H. Prabowo Setiyawan, M.T., Ph.D., Vice Rector I Drs. Bedjo Santoso, M.T., Ph.D., and the dean officials in Faculty of Engineering. The agenda of Teknik Bersholawat also invited Almuqorobin hadro from Kendal
