The Dean of Faculty of Industrial Technology, Dr. Sri Arttini in her opening remarks stated that students were expected to be able to carry out a final project based on computer security to be used as research. “Because computer security is not just a protection from a computer’s perspective which includes software and hardware. But it is very wide. It also includes non-technical things,” said Arttini.

Computer security or also known as cyber security or IT security is information security that is applied to computers and networks. It is one of the studies that can be developed continuously.

This public lecture invited Mr. Md Maruf Hasan, lecturer from Daffodil International University Bangladesh as the speaker. According to him, computer security is very important.

This is caused by the internet that is widely used to update YouTube, Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram, and others. Moreover, the number of internet users in the world is increasing. Around 40% of the world’s human population uses the internet in daily life nowadays. “We cannot live without technology, in the daily life,” he said.

Technology is growing very fast in the industrial revolution era 4.0. Some of the aspects are in the field of transportation, industry, digital manufacturing, and the internet. Therefore, the development of technology in the field of security is also very important. This is for securing data in all of the aspects above. This is important so that data is not lost or manipulated by other parties. “If you are not careful in securing your data information adequately in the system, intruders can easily access and exploit it. Therefore, students must be able to learn and develop it,” he explained.
