Unissula Strengthen the Collaboration with Unhasy

The Unissula delegation led by Vice Rector III, Muhammad Qomarudin, M.Sc., Ph.D., and Vice Rector I, Drs. Bedjo Santoso, M.T., Ph.D., visited the residence of the Leader of Pesantren Tebuireng as well as the Rector of Wahid Hasyim University (Unhasy) K.H. Sholahudin Wahid (Gus Sholah) at the Pesantren Tebu Ireng complex, Jombang (19/3).

The group was welcomed directly by Dr. Mif Rohim, M.A. or commonly known as Gus Miftah who is also the Vice Rector III of Unhasyi who drove them directly to the residence of Gus Sholah. The purpose of the visit was to invite Gus Sholah to become the speaker in Islamic studies or in other scientific forums agenda also to strengthen the partnership.

On this occasion, Unissula and Unhasy agreed to sign an MoU to enhance cooperation in terms of higher education. The collaboration covered the fields of education, research, and community service.

“I really appreciate the visit of representatives from Unissula, which is one of the oldest Islamic universities in Central Java, we hope that the synergy between the two universities will be beneficial to both parties in particular and to the community at large,” said Gus Sholah.

Meanwhile, M Qomaruddin hoped that this collaboration could mutually strengthen the two institutions and could immediately be followed up with concrete action. ” The strengths of each institution can be shared to strengthen each other, so that it can be beneficial to the community,” explained Qomaruddin.

The group also had the opportunity to visit the tomb of the founder of Nahdlatul Ulama, Hasyim Asyari, and the tomb of the fourth President of Republic Indonesia,  Abdurrahman Wahid. Participating in the group were Dr. Ghofar Shodiq, M.Ag. as the Head of the Institute for Islamic Studies and Development (LKPI) and the staff.
