The ministry of social affairs hold Unissula to eradicate Poverty

Unissula presented the Minister of Social Affairs, Khofifah Indar Parawansa to the Senate Open Meeting “The commemoration of 1 Muharram 1438 H”. The event was held at the Al Razi Building, Lt. Col. dr. Soetomo Hall, Faculty of Medicine, 3rd floor Unissula (28/10).

On the occasion, the Rector of Unissula, Anis Malik Thoha Lc MA PhD said it was the new year for Islam, Muharram 1438 H, in which also coincided with the 56th anniversary of Unissula. Unissula as an Islamic higher education institutions had the opportunities and challenges which were not easy because the implementation of Tridharma college should be directed at achieving quality output and superior both in the academic and the Islamic side.

In his report, the Rector of Unissula showed the achievement progress for one year, such as the development of human resources, governance, students, infrastructure, research, publications and community service. Such achievement would not be achieved if there were no good continuity of the whole community of Unissula.

Meanwhile, Khofifah, in her scientific oration, invited Unissula to play an active role in poverty program eradication launched by the government.

“The commemoration of Hijri new year should be a momentum for Muslims to emigrate, or move from bad to good, from the poor to the prosperous,” she said.

In her view, Khofifah considered college has a strategic role to help people in poor villages. Whether it’s for the health sector involving schools of medicine and nursing, assistance for economic empowerment involving the faculty of economics and rural infrastructure improvements involving the faculty of engineering and many more.
As a closing event, the open senate meeting Unissula gave awards to students, employees and Lecturers with good performance
