Unissula Rector, Ir. Prabowo Setiyawan, M.T., Ph.D., inaugurated Olivia Fachrunnisa, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., as the 13th Professor at Unissula in the professor inauguration held at the Faculty of Economics hall (26/6). In her inaugural address speech, Olivia discussed the importance of increasing human values in the organization towards spiritual well-being.

“The new challenge for the field of work in the digital age is to add value to human values in the integration of the use of the internet with production lines that utilize the sophistication of information and communication technology. Therefore, we need organizational leaders who are able to maximize human value in the digital era,” said the youngest professor of Unissula (44 years).

She continued, the orientation of providing workplaces or organizations was to maximize spiritual well-being that would further enhance the existence or value of humans on earth. For that reason, it is important to have competencies that are suitable with the era to have a strong character based on the values of spirituality and religiosity that will increase our values both from the point of view oh human and from Allah. As also narrated by the Khalifah Ali bin Abi Tholib, “O Muslims educate your children in accordance with the times because they are not living in your day.” In the age of increasingly advanced science, we must instill in every member of the organization and our children that the most important is faith and devotion to Allah SWT.

Meanwhile, Director of Career and Human Resource Competency of the Ministry of Research and Technology, Prof. Dr. Bunyamin Maftuh, M.Pd., M.A., praised Olivia’s path to become a professor. “I would like to congratulate Mrs. Olivia Fahrunnisa who achieved the title of professor. It is very rare in Indonesia for lecturers to have the title of professor jump from the lector directly to the professor. According to the regulations it is possible but very difficult. One of them is having at least four reputable international journals and it is very difficult. Meanwhile, if the regular route is from the lecturer, it must go to the head lecturer first, then the professor,” said Bunyamin.

He also praised the quality of the human resources of Unissula’s lecturers. “I would like to congratulate Unissula, who has 13 professors. It is rare for a private university to have more than 10 professors and even many private universities that do not have any professors yet,” concluded Bunyamin.

Up until now, the record number of professors in Indonesia is currently around 5,600 from 250,000 lecturers under the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education.
