Unissula held a National Conference in April 2019 regarding the results of lecturers and students research, on Monday (22/04/2019). The national conference entitled “National Seminar on Unissula’s Student Scientific Papers 1″ was also supported by 15 private universities as co-hosts.

The purpose of the conference, opened by the Rector Ir. Prabowo Setiyawan, M.T., Ph.D., was to bring together the results of the research by lecturers and students. The forum also invited the Sub directorate Head of Reasoning and Creativity, Directorate of Students Affair, Directorate General of Higher Education’s, Dr. Misbah Fikrianto.

Misbah encouraged students to take advantage of today’s technological sophistication because modern technology certainly opens up many opportunities and forms of success. “Smart phones owned by students should not only be used to monitor social media but also for positive interests, for example, to run an electronic-based entrepreneur and so on,” said Misbah.

Misbah also mentioned that the industrial revolution 4.0 should be used creatively by students to gain positive benefits. He believed that students who are full of creativity will also be proud of their almamater. Instead, he reminded “Students who are not creative will be left behind. There is no choice in this era except to innovate more,” Misbah added.

Meanwhile, Rector Prabowo revealed that in the future, research and publications would be very strategic for higher education institutions. “This conference is held as an effort to provide technical forums and research discussions related to the progress of the Indonesian academic world. The conference also aims to bring together researchers, academics, scientists, students, and practitioners to participate and present their latest research findings. In the future, research and publications for tertiary institutions become something very strategic to maintain or increase the accreditation of both institutions and study programs,” said Prabowo.

At the end of his remarks, the Rector of Unissula also gave his full appreciation for the implementation of this forum. The success of this conference will contribute greatly to the development of knowledge.

The activity was divided into two major activities namely the seminar and followed up by call for paper presentation which was attended by 350 presenters. In addition, MOE (Memorandum of Execution) was also signed by 15 universities that were co-hosted in these activities including UII Jogjakarta, UNIMUS Semarang, Uniska Muhammad Arsyad Al-Banjary Kalimantan, Unikal Pekalongan, UIKA Bogor, UNIDA Gontor, UMJ Jakarta, UPS Tegal , UMRAH Riau, UIR Riau, Unigal Ciamis, UPGRIS Semarang, BINUS Jakarta, UNTAG Semarang and UNSWAGATI Cirebon.
